Riding for the Disabled Association Annual Charity Ball 2019 was successfully held on the 11th Jan 2019 at Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong. This year, nearly 400 honorable guests, community partners and avid supporters of RDA gathered to support this major fundraising event. We were honored to have Professor Sophia CHAN, JP, the Secretary for Food and Health as our Guest of Honor. Other honorable guests included Dr. Anthony WK CHOW, SBS, JP, President of RDA & Chairman of HKJC, Mr. Thomas YEUNG, Chairman of RDA cum Chairman of RDA Annual Charity Ball Committee 2019, Mrs. Purviz R. SHROFF, MH, Mr. TUNG Moon Fai and Mr. KWOK Siu Ming etc.
Before the banquet officially began, Dr. Anthony WK CHOW, SBS, JP, extended a warm welcome to all the guests, briefly introducing RDA’s mission and services. Over the past 40 years, RDA has actively been promoting rehabilitative riding to the disabled community to help build their self-confidence, balance and co-ordination. This provision complements the Government’s rehabilitation programmes.
The highlight of the evening was the charity singing by celebrity singers: Dr. Anthony WK CHOW SBS JP, Dr. Simon S O IP, CBE, JP, Mr. Thomas YEUNG and Dr. Allen SHI. All guests enjoyed the amazing performance. Meanwhile, the famous band “Young Once” was the grand finale of the event. The band members are a group of enthusiastic music lovers. They wish to use music to help relieve pressure from busy city lives, and create a sense of joy.
Finally, the excellent performance made the night wonderful. We are looking forward RDA might arouse the public awareness and encouragement to disabled community always.
